Tandy Brands Accessories has said it has acquired the Texas-based manufacturer and distributor of leather sporting goods accessories, AA&E Leathercraft, Inc. The purchase price was approximately $990,000, which was funded through the company's credit facility.

J.S.B. Jenkins, president and chief executive officer, commented, "As a result of last year's successful acquisition of assets from Torel, Inc., we have become increasingly interested in the sporting goods distribution channel."

"Leathercraft is a gun slings and related hunting accessories specialist. Its products represent an excellent opportunity for Tandy Brands to expand our market share while maintaining a strong profit margin."
