Mainland opportunities highlighted at APLF
Speaking after the opening of Asia Pacific Leather Fair yesterday, Derek Lee, chairman of the Hong Kong Leathergoods, Bags and Luggage Association said local manufacturers were now looking to make the most of mainland opportunities in the wake of China’s entry into the World Trade Organisation.
He said many US clients had cancelled orders while others were unable to settle outstanding payments. Nevertheless, he was optimistic that the US business would return, citing the high levels of sample requests received after Lunar New Year.
