02/04/2002

This year Hong Kong, the home of APLF and Asia’s fashion centre, has been designated as Focus Region. Over 60 Hong Kong companies make up the national pavilion showing the best that the region designs and manufactures. Additionally, a series of activities including daily fashion shows organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), an inaugural Hong Kong Footwear Competition and the display of selected products at the HKTDC Design Gallery before, during and after APLF will be staged.

National pavilions are an integral feature of APLF Raw Materials & Manufacturing. This year there are no less than 20, including Australia, Brazil, China, Columbia, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Pakistan, Portugal, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the USA. All national pavilions at APLF 2001 have returned this year while Egypt is participating for the first time. A new US group, American Alligator from the Southern United States Trade Association, is also participating for the first time.

APLF 2002 RM&M will be held on April 9–12 at the HK Convention and Exhibition Centre. The APLF Finished Goods show runs in parallel from April 8-10.
