Natuzzi: revenues higher as profits slide

Italian leather sofa manufacturer Natuzzi has posted figures for the 12 months ending December 31, 2001 showing a 14.2% increase in net sales, but operating profit down 22.7% to Eur97.76 million. Net sales were Eur786 million while net profit fell 4.4% to Eur75.67 million.
The poor results were blamed on high prices for raw materials and difficult trading conditions, but the company said that the first few months of 2002 had been positive with a rise in the number of orders.
