US Army wearing Kyrgyz boots
06/03/2002
A factory in Kyrgyzstan has begun supplying military boots to the US army stationed in Afghanistan, according to local newspaper reports.
The Bistail footwear factory in Kyrgyzstan, which neighbours Afghanistan, is thought to have supplied a small number of boots, but hopes to furnish the 4,000-5,000 contingent believed to be present in the area, thereby gaining much needed foreign currency.
