From rhetoric to reality - shaping a better future for Australian wool
Australian wool industry participants have been invited to have their say at a series of industry consultation forums to be held in Sydney at Exchange Square, March 14-15.
Organised by the wool research organisation, Australian Wool Innovation (AWI), the forums will be held under the banner; "From rhetoric to reality – shaping a better future for wool." AWI Managing Director, Col Dorber, said the forums will be open to all wool producers and interested organisations and cover three broad areas of challenge facing the wool industry, as follows:
14 March - Forum 1: Innovative wool production – expectations, threats, opportunities.
15 March - Forum 2: From wool harvest to designer’s door – quality at lower cost.
15 March - Forum 3: Product pull – seeing the consumer world as wool’s oyster
Key issues for discussion will include research and development
, reducing handling, testing and selling costs and maintaining quality and cost-reduction from raw wool through to fabric processing.
