Cavecal swears in board of directors
In a ceremony held during the National Shoe Fair at the Caracas Hilton, February 18, Cavecal, the new association for footwear and components companies in Venezuela, appointed its board of directors. (See leatherbiz.com, February 25, 2002: "Venezuela: Footwear associations finally combine")
The president of the new association is Gennaro Paladino (of Vimpar Shoes Paladino), the vice presidents are Luigi Pisella (Calzados New Bird) and José Luis Potolicchio (Poliuretanos Texel). The treasurer is Carmen Palmiero (Calzados El Teramano).
An advisory committee has been formed to assist the board of directors in matters of policy initiatives and includes several experienced veterans from the sector such as Remo Raimondi, ex-president of Cavenic, Henry Gómez Alberti, ex-president of the government body Fedindustria and Alfonso Camerlingo, ex-president of Cafaca.
