French leather fair organiser SIC Group has joined with leather associations in Hungary to produce The Leather Link, an event designed to stimulate trade in raw hides and skins, semi-processed and finished leathers between Eastern and Central European suppliers and Western buyers.

The first edition of the event, to be held in Budapest on June 21-23, 2002, will be a convention where participants will be able to make presentations, with simultaneous translations available. The format follows that developed for the Meet in Africa (MIA) event.
