Fire destroys footwear factory in Pakistan
Equipment, raw materials and chemicals were reduced to ashes when a fire took hold in a footwear factory in Lahore on Wednesday, February 13, 2002. The privately-owned factory is located in the Timber Market on Ravi Road in Lahore City (Punjab Province).
According to the owner Ijaz Ahmad, apart from the contents the roof of the building was also severely damaged.
According to fire brigade officials, two fire-fighting units reached the factory and controlled the blaze within three hours. No loss of life was reported, but the cause of the fire is unknown.
