New Zealand: skin prices up slightly
The ANZ New Zealand Commodity Price Index for January 2002 provided some relief for New Zealand’s exporters with news that commodity prices had risen by 0.2% during the month. The slight rise comes after large falls in the index during November and December.
Skin prices followed the general trend by recording a slight rise of 3.7% in January. However, skin prices had nearly halved during the previous four months due to pressures caused by a build-up in stocks and weakening demand.
