Michell Australia, parent company of leather producer Michell Leather, has appointed Mr John A. Michell as chairman. Mr Michell, who was managing director of the company from 1978 to 1999, replaces Mr J. Raymond Michell, who has retired as chairman.

John Michell joined the company in 1949 and, during his time as managing director, oversaw a period of rapid growth in the company’s leather operations around the world, including the establishment of Michell Leather’s plant in Ireland.
