US footwear retailers eager to go online
A survey conducted by the US National Shoe Retailers Association (NSRA) shows that a large majority of footwear retailers would conduct business online if manufacturers would make this possible. The survey reinforced the idea that the internet is a good way for manufacturers to forge stronger and more profitable relationships with smaller, independent retailers.
Overall, 79% of independent footwear retailers surveyed said that they have a computer in their store and 69% said they would conduct business online, including ordering, tracking and checking availability, if technology were made available to them.
