24/01/2002

Kofra, the Franco-Uzbek joint venture, has started supplying its products to the Uzbek market. The manufacturer, based in Kokand, Uzbekistan, specialises in production of high quality comfort footwear. The operation has already shipped 10,000 pairs and plans to produce one million pairs over the course of the year.

The factory was set up with components sourced from France and leather from Uzbek tanneries. The long-term plan, however, is to source all raw materials through local suppliers.
