UK footwear manufacturer E Sutton & Son Ltd. has been awarded its second consecutive Investors in People award for its commitment in terms of training and conditions to its 243 staff.

Managing director Ronnie Barker said he was "delighted" with the award, adding: "The professionalism that has grown with a structured approach to training and development has enabled us to respond to the ever-changing global market."

The company started manufacturing slippers in Salford then switched to shoe-making in Bacup in the 1940s. It has become best known for its Comfort Plus range of wide-fitting ladies’ shoes.
