Italian statistics office ISTAT reported industrial sales down 6.2% year-on-year in November. One of the worst sectors was leather and footwear, which saw a fall of 14.7%, while sales for oil refineries plummeted 27.9%.

Sales abroad were worse hit (down 8.2%) compared with domestic sales (-5.3%) and on a seasonally adjusted basis industrial sales were only 1.4% lower than October.
