Skechers takes control of French distribution network
US footwear company Skechers is to assume direct control over the distribution of its products in France as part of a drive to increase international sales. The company is taking over from Broadway Sport, which has handled distribution for the past seven years.
Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers USA said: "Over the last 18 months, we have taken control of our business in key European areas in an effort to build and expand our international business. We believe this will bring us closer to our goal of growing our international sales from 10% to 25-30% of our overall business in the next three to five years."
The company's operations in France will be supported by a Paris office and showroom, both of which are scheduled to open in mid-February, 2002.
