Moldavian footwear manufacturer Zorile recently shipped 6,000 pairs of men’s footwear to Rieker in Germany, fulfilling a supply contract that was signed last November. According to Zorile’s financial director Maria Popescu, the factory will now produce around 1,000 pairs of leather footwear on a daily basis for its new German customer.

Last year Zorile exported some 160,000 pairs of sports shoes to Garsport in Italy and in 2002 plans to deliver 180,000 pairs to another Italian company, Loncar Due. Total output for Zorile in 2001 amounted to 428,000 pairs of mainly men’s shoes.
