Viking is launching a new range of waterproof boots at ISPO and also has a new distribution deal in Europe. Transat Sport, which already distributes Reebok footwear, will sell Viking boots in Switzerland.

Viking has sold its technical hand built rubber boots at ISPO for several years and now the company is extending its waterproof collection of boots incorporating Gore-tex and Asystec to consumers throughout Europe.

The range is separated into collections for hunting, trekking, sailing and outdoors. Hunting boots have special features like non-rusting eyelets, Vibram soles, Gore-tex membrane and heel reinforcement. Warm lined winter walking boots have breathable leather, suede and textile uppers, with Gore-tex membrane to maintain foot climate. Asystec boots use a specialised waterproof shell construction combined with a breathable membrane to make them withstand the toughest conditions.

Viking’s latest urban collection was started by industrial designer Einar Hareide, previously head of design at Saab. The men’s collection has been increased with collection of avant-garde, functional low Gore-tex boots in suede and leather.
