EU conference to be held on training needs in the leather industry
A workshop and conference to design a training strategy for the European leather industry is to take place in Turin, Italy on March 26-27, 2002. The event will be held at the Chamber of Industry where there is also a special leather technology exhibition of the oldest school of tanners in Europe, the Baldracco Institute.
The aim of the conference and workshop is to identify the European leather industry’s training needs and a means of fulfilling them. The organisers hope to gather representatives from all those involved in the industry: tanneries, chemical and technology suppliers, research centres and public institutions.
The event is being organised by COTANCE (Confederation of National Associations of Tanners and Dressers of the European Community), ETUF: TCL, (European Trade Union Federation: Textiles, Clothing and Leather) UNIC (Unione Nazionale Industria Conciaria, Italy) and FEMCA-CISL (federazione italiana lavoratori energia moda chimica e affini) and is within the framework of the EU’s Social Dialogue.
