Skechers sees sales rise 40% in 2001
US footwear company Skechers USA Inc has announced that sales for the fourth quarter were up 16% to over $200 million. The company expects full year sales for 2001 to be between $946 million and $961 million, a rise of 40% on the previous year. However, in a statement to the press the company warned against calculating similar increases in fourth quarter or full year earnings based on the sales figures.
The chairman of the company, Robert Greenberg, said: "Despite a weak retail environment and recent world events, we are pleased that we continued to build the brand impressively and increase market share both domestically and internationally in 2001."
