Brazilian leather and shoe companies to have strong presence at 27th ANPIC
The number of Brazilian companies at ANPIC in Mexico (the International Show of Components, Machinery and Fashion Pre-Selection for the Leather Industry) is set to grow from 48 to 73 in 2002, with 20 machinery and 53 component manufacturers attending the event.
The increase in companies participating has been organised by Abrameq (the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Machines for the Leather and Shoe Industries), and Assintecal (the Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Components for the Leather and Shoe Industry).
The high profile of Brazilian companies at ANPIC reflects the growing importance of Mexico as a destination for Brazilian exports in shoe machinery and components. In 2000, Mexico was Brazil's main customer in this sector with sales of $1.8 million - twice as much as in 1999. Figures for 2001 will only be available in February.
ANPIC, is to be held in Leon, Guanajuato, in Mexico, from February 23-26, 2002.
