03/01/2002

Brazil’s Couromoda 2002 will occupy 40,000 square metres of exhibition space - an area 11% larger than last year. The increase was needed to house the 7% increase in the number of exhibitors and will include a new 7,900 square metre pavilion.

The event takes place in Sao Paulo from January 15-18. Around 750 exhibitors from 16 Brazilian states will be present with 160 small and medium sized companies at the event with the support of their local state governments or trade associations.

To encourage Brazilian leather exports, the ‘Buyers' Project’ held at Couromoda 2002 will bring 60 potential importers from Mexico, Central America and Scandinavia to the fair. The organisers hope another 2,000 prospective importers will visit - invitations have been sent to 56,000 retailers, 5,450 Latin-American buyers and 4,400 buyers from other markets.
