Luxury leather goods retailer Coach has announced that its Japanese operation, Coach Japan, is to open an outlet in the Ginza section of Tokyo in summer 2002. The US-based company said that it expects to open 15 stores in Japan over this fiscal year.

The flagship store in Tokyo will be approximately 500 square metres over two floors and is to be designed by Michael Neumann Architects. The location is on the corner of Harumi-Dori and Namiki-Dori, a central point within one of Japan's most prestigious shopping districts.
