The organisers of the third biennial Meet In Africa (MIA) have released details about the event, which is to take place in Tunis between October 6-12, 2002. The leather fair will incorporate buyer-seller meetings, expert group meetings, joint venture consultations and capacity building events. The African Federation of Leather and Allied Industries (AFLAI) is also to hold its annual general meeting at the event.

The expert group meetings will be held in partnership with UNIDO (the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation) and ASSOMAC (the Italian Machinery Manufacturers' Association). The organisers claim that attendance will increase in 2002, building on the success of the two previous MIAs in Cape Town and Casablanca.
