Lang appointed MD of Andrew Muirhead & Son Limited
Scottish Tanning Industries (STI) has announced the appointment of James Lang as managing director of its upholstery leather business, Andrew Muirhead & Son Limited of Glasgow.
Formerly the company’s sales director, Lang replaces Hamish Campbell in the post, who will be retiring at the end of March 2002 after 28 years with the company. Lang has a strong family connection with the STI group in that his father, Hugh, is the retired joint managing director of W.J & W. Lang, now also part of the STI group.
Muirhead is Europe’s oldest upholstery leather producer and employs a 100 people in Glasgow and at its distribution centre in Burnley, Lancs. The company specialises in the manufacture and supply of upholstery leather to the furniture, aviation, automotive and marine industries.
