David Cairns

The UK Textiles and Leather Business Unit of BASF has advised that David Cairns, Account Manager, died at the end of October following a courageous fight against cancer.

David started work with BASF as a laboratory assistant in 1966, becoming one of the company’s youngest ever Technical Representatives when he was appointed account manager for the South and South West region. In 1990, David and his family moved to South Africa where he was posted as a BASF delegate, returning in 1995 after the retirement of the then leather manager, Colin Nelson.

David had a total of 35 years service with BASF.
