China’s vice minister for Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC), Sun Zhenyu, has said that more steps are to be made to facilitate the inflow of foreign capital to China. The number of areas open to foreign investment are also to be expanded to include banking, insurance and more areas of trade and commerce.

MOFTEC is currently working on provisional regulations and a catalogue to help guide foreign investors. Sun Zhenyu said that policies are being implemented to encourage and support foreign investment in the middle and western parts of China.
