Mexico to hold next IULTCS XVI Congress
The XVI IULTCS (International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies) Congress is to be held in Cancun, Mexico, at the end of May 2003. The original decision to choose Mexico was taken in 1997, during the celebrations of the centenary year of the IULTCS held in London at the same time as the XIII World Congress of Leather Chemists and Technicians.
Brazilian leather expert, Professor Regina Canovas Teixeira has been appointed technical representative to the event for FLAQTIC (The Federation of Latin-American of Leather chemists and Technicians). Professor Teixeira is a member of the teaching and research staff of the Leather Technology Centre-Senai, Estancia Velha/RS, Brazil, as well as a member of the Technical and Scientific Council of ABQTIC (the Brazilian Association of Leather Chemists and Technicians).
