New industry association in Peru

A new professional body has been formed in Peru to represent leather chemists and technicians. The Peruvian Association of Leather Chemists and Technicians (APEQTIC), formed in September 2001, is the newest member of FLAQTIC (The Federation of Latin-American Leather chemists and Technicians), and is also a member of the IULTCS (International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies).

The president of the new association is Helvert Vera Torres and the vice-president is Jose Escobar Torres.
