Market intelligence and discussion forum added to leatherbiz.com

05/11/2001

As the worlds leading on-line news and information service for the leather industry, www.leatherbiz.com has been updated with a host of additional services - all designed to deliver the market knowledge leather professionals need to enhance their competitiveness.

The first major difference is Market Intelligence, a two-weekly commentary on the background trends that are shaping the leather trade. Drawing on the market knowledge of a range of industry experts and correspondents, Market Intelligence has been designed to enable leatherbiz.com members to make better, more informed business decisions that take full account of the wider market picture.

The first report discusses some of the reasons why the industry has been hit so badly by the current economic downturn, and what might be coming next, and is available for viewing now on the homepage of leatherbiz.com

In a similar vein, as from today, leatherbiz.com members will also receive a weekly email carrying the industry’s latest news headlines, plus a listing of the most up to date product developments from the industrys major suppliers of leather, chemicals, machinery and services. The news section now also incorporates a facility that allows members to comment on individual stories, plus a word search feature for easy reference. In common with Market Intelligence, there will be a small charge for leatherbiz.com news after an initial two month free trial period. All other services will continue to be provided on a free access basis.

In addition, there are now technical and commercial discussion forums to allow technicians and others to air their views and problems. This is complemented by a comprehensive database which includes: new product press releases listed by product category and date, a search engine to locate suppliers, plus an extended list of product categories with hotlink facilities.

As ever, these improvements have been made with requirements of the leather industry professional in mind.  The newly-revised site can be found at
