According to the organisers, Couromoda 2002 (the International Shoe, Sporting Goods and Leathergoods Fair) is to be at its biggest ever this year. Exhibition space will cover 37,000 square metres with 800 exhibitors and an estimated 50,000 business visitors attending. A large number of importers, mainly from Latin America and Mercosur are also expected as a result of the organisers’ advertising campaign.

This year there are a number of innovations to try and improve the functioning of the event. The plan of the fair has been redrawn and exhibitors will now be placed together according their field of activity. Wider corridors and a second entry point for visitors will make circulation easier. Among the fair's main attractions are four fashion shows, the Model Shoe Factory, the 6th Brazilian Footwear Congress (to be held on Jan 14th) and Feninver, the Garment and Accessory Fashion Fair.

Couromoda 2002, the 29^th International Shoe, Sporting Goods and Leathergoods Fair, is to be held in Sao Paulo from January 15-18.
