Bolivian President Jorge Quiroga is on a trip to Spain and has been keen to emphasise the opportunities for investment in his country. The leather, textile and tourism industries were among the areas where he said that investors might have overlooked Bolivia.

He said that economic development over the last 10-20 years meant that Bolivia was enjoying greater stability and could guarantee the legal and fiscal responsibility necessary to protect foreign capital. Total Spanish investment in Bolivia has been running at around $1 billion annually.
