Spanish shoe brand transfers part of production to Portugal
The Spanish shoe Pikilinos has said it has reached an accord with three Portuguese companies to transfer part of its production to Portugal.
Aimed at reducing the company’s raw materials and labour costs, the arrangement will involve the transfer in production of some 200,000 pairs, or 20% of Pikolinos output, to Portugal.
Having posted a turnover of Eur30 million last year, Pikolinos says it hopes to raise sales to Eur36 million in 2001, of which 75% are expected to be derived from markets outside Spain.
