Legislative threat posed to Czech meat processors

An estimated 30% of meat processors in the Czech Republic will be forced out of business by a proposed amendment to the Veterinary Act, it was reported in the national press last week. Aimed at bringing the Act into line with European Union (EU) legislation, the amendment is expected to come into effect at the beginning of 2003.
