Leather show returns to Paris

15/10/2001

Paris returned to the international calendar of leather shows earlier this month with the first edition of Le Cuir à Paris – an exhibition of finished leather collections held in Hall 6 of the Paris Expo, in the exhibition grounds of Porte De Versailles.

Held October 5-7, the fair - which is intended to be held twice a year - showcased the Autumn and Winter 2002/03 colour collections of some 251 finished leather producers, drawn principally from France and Italy, as well as attracting exhibitors from other countries.  In all, the fair attracted 4,100 visitors, some of whom had undoubtedly come to judge the event for themselves as a platform for the leather industry.

Incorporating an imposing trends gallery that emphasised natural colours and textures, the fair coincided with three major apparel-related shows at Parc D’Expositions, Villepinte, Paris Nord. The shows were Premiere Vision (International Fabrics), Indigo (Surface Print Design) and Mod’Amont (Fashion Supplies and Trimmings).

The next session of Le Cuir à Paris, previewing Spring/Summer 2003, will be held Thursday 18 and Friday 19 April 2002, again at Porte De Versailles.
