India’s textile and leather industry has received a significant boost with the decision of Reebok International to move its sourcing base for the Greg Norman golf products line to India from Hong Kong. Reebok India will become the sole buying agent. The switch could mean an increase in investment in India in the textile and garment sectors.

The global market for golfing apparel is already around $2.5 billion and is currently expanding at a rate of more than 12% a year. Reebok’s interest in golf is also set to increase with the introduction of a new line in the Spring to be called Reebok Golf, also to be supplied by the India base.
