Columbia Sportswear Company® has appointed Bill Berta as general manager of the company’s footwear division. Berta will manage both Columbia and Sorel footwear brands. Columbia acquired the Sorel brand last autumn, with Berta named general manager of the Sorel division in January this year.

Berta joined Columbia Sportswear in 1996 as manager of footwear sales for the United States, and has helped propel the growth of the company’s footwear business. Prior to joining Columbia, he worked for Wolverine as key account manager and was the national sales manager for Hi-Tech Sports.
