Tanning Tech grows
The organisers of Tanning Tech, Assomac (National Association of Italian Manufacturers of Footwear, Leather goods and Tannery Machines and Accessories) has advised that this November’s event will have a tally of 261 exhibitors – a higher number than last year.
It also reports a slight increase in requests for net surface, particularly with regard to Pavilion 34 which is home to the chemical and tanning materials producers.
According to Assomac, this year’s event should act as a barometer for the current state of the market for tanning machinery and ancillaries, following the twin crises of foot and mouth and BSE. Assomac’s vice chairman Giacomo Vallero said: "Because most tanners were forced to channel their financial resources into the purchase of raw material, many capital investment projects were simply put off. Tanning Tech will be the industry’s first major opportunity to see whether, as we all hope, the market has begun to return to normal".
