One in six French leather companies ‘at risk’

01/10/2001

One in six French leather companies is at high risk of failure, according to the UK research organisation, Plimsoll Publishing Ltd, and many of these failing companies will struggle to settle payments with their overseas suppliers in the next six months.

The background to these and other stark conclusions is contained in the French Plimsoll Portfolio Analysis: Leather, a new research document covering the 500 most important companies involved in the manufacture, tanning and retail of leather and leather goods in France.

Plimsoll says the analysis should simplify the task of targeting financially sound customers while cutting through the barriers of different accounting practices and language.
