Apex Tannery, one of the largest tanneries in Bangladesh, has suffered extensive damage after a fire broke out at its operation in the Hazaribagh area of Dhaka.

Goods worth about Tk4 million ($70,000) were destroyed before the blaze was brought under control by two fire-fighting units from Mohammadpur. Sources from the fire service said that a faulty machine started the fire.
