Aleksiey Golubov chief of the Ukrainian Industrial Ministry told on a press conference last week that the output of light industry in Ukraine during January – July 2001 climbed 20.7% year-on-year.
He also reported the textile, footwear and leather sectors have increased their output six-fold since 1990. However, per capita consumption of light industry products remained at an extremely low level, equating to:
