Sales in machinery and raw materials rose in Italy by 4.8% in June according to the official statistics service ISTAT. However, industrial orders were down 5.5% during the same period.

In the leather and footwear sector, industrial sales rose 4.6% year-on-year in June with a rise of 5.8% for the year. The textiles sector has experienced a significant decline in industrial sales in the year to June, down 14.3%.
