Together with clothing and textiles and electro-mechanical goods, leather and shoes were one of Tunisia’s top export performers in the eight months to August 31.

Despite the fact total exports climbed 22.8% to Td6403.6 million ($4.5 billion), the country’s trade deficit still increased by 13.4% to Td2850.2 as imports were up 19.7% to Td9253.8 million. No commodity-specific figures were obtainable at the time of going to press.
