BASF Group appoints new head of corporate communications

Christian Friedrich Schubert is to join BASF Aktiengesellschaft, Ludwigshafen at the beginning of October, as head of corporate communications BASF Group.

Schubert will be responsible for world-wide media activities across a range of functions including BASF corporate publications, corporate advertising and corporate identity. The corporate communications unit is part of BASF's central department communications, which is led by Dr. Matthias Hensel.

The previous head of the unit, Dr. Felix Gress, is to become vice president of human resources, executive management group, where he will be responsible for world-wide executive management development and planning in the BASF Group.

Schubert joins BASF from DaimlerChrysler Services AG, Berlin, where he headed the press department for three and a half years.
