Anhui Golden Cattle reports profits drop

The Chinese beef processor and leather product manufacturer Anhui Golden Cattle Co Ltd reported a steep decline in profits for the first six months of 2001. The Shanghai-listed company suffered a 65.4% drop in profits to Y27 million ($3.2 million) for the first half of 2001, with a 60% drop in earnings per share to Y0.08.
