Bangladesh: leather export prices fall

The continuing recession in the West is pushing the main export sectors of Bangladesh's economy into deep crisis, according to reports coming out of the country.

The export prices of major items such as finished leather, leather goods and frozen shrimp are fetching much lower prices when sold for export. The price of finished leather and leather goods is said to be down by 15%, frozen shrimp by 50%, and knitwear goods by 20%.
