The shoe industry of Ciefuegos is showing signs of recovery, according to Cuban radio. Shoe business director Carlos Aguilar said that the sector is emerging from a period when raw materials were scarce and production was paralysed.

Now the four factories and a leather outlet in Ciefuegos are showing encouraging levels of production. This year's target production of 265,100 shoes is looking very possible with 63% already delivered.
