Hermes International suffers market correction

27/08/2001

Shares in luxury goods group Hermes International fell 3.05 per cent to Euro162.10 (US$56.56) in Paris last week, according to French Newspaper Les Echos. Although the group reported an increase in turnover of 11.6 per cent to Euro570.9 for the first 6 months of 2001, one analyst suggested that leather goods activities did not perform as well as had been expected during the second quarter. Another analyst attributed the poor performance to a weak Yen.
