Mexican leather exports decline again in Q2
Figures newly-released by the Mexican government statistics agency INEGI show that 34 of the country’s 49 industries experienced negative growth in the second quarter of the year – the leather and footwear trades among them.
Output of the Mexican manufacturing sector as a whole decreased by 3.4 percent, outpacing the 2.3% rate of slowdown recorded for the first half of the year. Other industrial sectors hit by the slowdown in the second quarter included electronics, rubber and machinery production.
