Tanbridge reports losses
Canada’s largest leather producer, The Tanbridge Corporation, has posted losses for the second quarter of $1,361,084 (US$883,000) compared to a profit of $1,000,148 for first half 2000. Second quarter sales of $18,037,625 were down from $26,084,479 in 2000.
Based in Winnipeg, Tanbridge has plants in Edmonton and Pennsylvania. The company is also a freeze-dry processor of food and other biological products, with plants located in Ontario and New York. The Board of Directors has temporarily suspended the payment of dividends on common shares. Its common shares are traded on the Toronto and Winnipeg stock exchanges under the symbol TNB.
